Dear Reader.
I hope you had a delightful weekend, I did. Tiresome, but very nice.
And the weather is still on our side; clear and sunny and with a spectacular Northern Light moving over the sky. It is absolutely stunning and a good reason to visit Wonderland. A glass of Champagne and dark environment and the best show possible flying over the sky. Nothing can beat that feeling.
But, it was avocados I wanted to write about today. Because I am on the hunt for the perfect avocado…
Not easy in Wonderland, but on Friday I had a very close one. Creamy, just perfect consistence with almost no faults. It tasted delicious. So I tried again the next day, and it is the one that is on the picture. That one was looking perfectly nice, but it wasn’t creamy enough. Or enough taste since it wasn’t ripe enough.
Avocados are originally from Central America, and get picked from trees that can be 20 meters tall. The avocados are a climacteric fruit, which matures on the tree, but ripens off the tree. The avocado is such a versatile fruit, and depending on the country, it is used to either sweet food or to salty food. It is full of good stuff for your body, and on a weight basis, avocados have 35% more potassium (485 mg/100 g) than bananas (358 mg/100 g).
I will continue the hunt for the perfect avocado so I can savor it to my next meal…
Have a nice lunch.
